Kazakhstan can make a substantial contribution to global food security, Novosti Kazakhstan quoted Dr Jacques Diouf, Director-General Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), as saying at the IV Economic Forum in Astana today. “I want to emphasize that Kazakhstan plays a significant role in the global agriculture system. Thanks to its resources, the nation has a vast potential in boosting its agricultural produce (…) this could bring Kazakhstan’s contribution to global food security to a higher level”, Jacques Diouf said. “Therefore, it is of great importance to render support to Kazakhstan to raise its agriculture potential (…) UNFAO will be rendering its technical support to the nation”, he said.
