Kazakhstan and China announce comprehensive strategic partnership

Kazakhstan and China have announced today, June 13, comprehensive strategic partnership, Tengrinews.kz reports. “Now (…) the strategic partnership has become truly comprehensive, with the joint declaration signed today covering all realms”, President Nazarbayev said at a press conference following his talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao in Astana. President also said that the two nations had agreed to launch regular meetings of the two heads of government. Besides, Kazakhstan’s President briefed on the status of the joint high-velocity railway to link Astana to Almaty. “Chinese and Kazakh specialists have started a feasibility study to construct a high-velocity railway linking Astana to Almaty”, the President said.
