Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan has allocated nearly 177 billion tenge to ensure stable heating supply for cities this coming winter, Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov said at a government meeting.

According to him, 129.4 billion tenge has been earmarked in 2025 for the capital repair and reconstruction of 323 kilometers of heating networks. Of this amount:

  • 104.2 billion tenge from the state budget

  • 25.2 billion tenge from the tariff revenues of heat supply companies

So far, 66 percent of the work has been completed. In this regard, the minister called on the government to instruct local administrations to accelerate efforts before the heating season begins.

Additional expenses for this year

To respond quickly to potential emergencies and prepare the system for winter, the government has allocated an additional 47.6 billion tenge from its 2024 reserve, including:

  • 20 billion tenge for the construction of new heating sources
  • 8.7 billion tenge for their repair and reconstruction
  • 5.5 billion tenge for heating network repairs
  • 13.4 billion tenge for investment projects in the heating sector

“These measures will help ensure stable heat supply in the regions and reduce the risks of repeated utility accidents like those seen last winter,” Akkenzhenov concluded.
