Kazakh schoolchildren will get 10 days of vacation

Tengrinews.kz – Schoolchildren in Kazakhstan are expecting extended holidays.

According to the 2025/2026 academic calendar, winter holidays will begin on December 29, 2025, and will last until January 7, 2026, inclusive. Students will have 10 days off and return to classes on January 8.

Teachers advise students to get enough sleep, rest more, and maintain their regular daily routine during the holidays. They also recommend spending less time on gadgets and more time outdoors.

Full schedule of school holidays for 2025/2026

In Kazakhstan, the school year is divided into four quarters. After the winter break, students will begin the third quarter, which will continue until mid-March. Spring holidays will then take place from March 19 to March 29 (11 calendar days).

• Additional holidays for 1st-grade students: February 9–15, 2026 (7 calendar days).
• 3rd quarter: 10 weeks. Spring holidays: March 19–29, 2026 (11 calendar days).
• 4th quarter: 8 weeks, ending on May 25, 2026.
