Tengrinews.kz – Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev held talks with Sergio Gor, Special Envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump for South and Central Asia, and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, according to the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

Tengrinews.kz – Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev held talks with Sergio Gor, Special Envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump for South and Central Asia, and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, according to the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

“During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, paying particular attention to the development of economic and investment partnerships, as well as cooperation in the fields of innovation, artificial intelligence, education, and science,” the press release stated.

The talks also covered prospects for cooperation in energy security and the extraction of critical minerals.

Kosherbayev noted that Astana views Washington as one of its key partners in implementing reforms and modernizing the economy. He emphasized Kazakhstan’s readiness to work jointly on initiatives aimed at sustainable economic growth, and highlighted the country’s role in ensuring global energy security, stable supply chains, and sustainable development throughout the wider Central Asian region.

Both sides also expressed a shared interest in deepening regional cooperation, including within the C5+1 dialogue platform, which marks its 10th anniversary this year. The format has helped promote regional integration, transport and logistics connectivity, and sustainable growth in Central Asia.

“The parties also discussed President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s upcoming participation in the C5+1 Summit in Washington, at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump,” the press service added.

Following the talks, the Kazakh Foreign Minister and members of the U.S. delegation reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the expanded strategic partnership, focused on ensuring stability, security, and prosperity in the region.
