Tengrinews.kz - Temirlan Anarbekov, goalkeeper of Almaty’s Kairat and the Kazakhstan national team, addressed fans following the club’s dramatic victory over Celtic in the Champions League playoff.
Anarbekov, who became the hero of the penalty shootout, joined a new patriotic online challenge promoting national unity and identity.
“Thank you to all of Kazakhstan and every supporter for standing with us! This success is our shared victory. Together we are stronger! Go, Kazakhstan!” the 21-year-old goalkeeper wrote on Instagram.

Not only athletes but also celebrities have joined the campaign, including TV host Dinara Satzhan, football legend Samat Smakov, actress Danagul Temirsultanova, Jaidarman founder Esen Eleuken, and comedian Kumar Lukmanov.
The challenge encourages participants to post photos and videos wearing clothes branded with “Qazaqstan” and share them with hashtags such as #МеніңҚазақстаным, #МойКазахстан, #ILoveQazaqstan, #Qazaqstan, #WeQazaqstan, and #БізQazaqstan.
Anarbekov’s heroic saves instantly made him a social media star. In just 24 hours after the win over Celtic, his Instagram following jumped from 5,600 to over 133,000, surpassing Astana midfielder Bauyrzhan Islamkhan, previously the most-followed footballer in the Kazakhstan Premier League.

Who is Temirlan Anarbekov?
Born on October 14, 2003, in Atyrau, Anarbekov is a product of Kairat’s academy. He made his Kazakhstan Premier League debut at the age of 17 in a match against Taraz on November 30, 2020. By 2022, he had become captain of Kairat’s U19 and Kairat-Zhasstar teams, playing key roles in the First League and UEFA Youth League.
