Jennifer Lopez won't be allowed to hold a concert at the stadium in Almaty

Tengrinews.kz – A day earlier, news surfaced that Jennifer Lopez would perform a solo concert in Almaty as part of her global "Up All Night" tour. However, FC Kairat expressed surprise at the announcement, stating that the pop diva's performance is not part of the football club's plans.

According to Kairat, the announced date – August 10 – was never agreed upon by the club.

“We received an official notice from the Almaty City Directorate of Sports Facilities about a preliminary reservation of the Central Stadium for a cultural event. In response, the club sent an official letter stating that the stadium cannot be used during the specified period due to the approved Premier League sports calendar and FC Kairat's international commitments in European competitions,” the statement reads.

The club clarified that on August 9–10, the stadium is scheduled to host an official match between FC Kairat and FC Zhenis. In addition, the team is set to participate in European cup matches on August 7 and 12. Due to these commitments, the stadium requires mandatory preparation in accordance with UEFA standards, making it impossible to hold other events on those dates.

“Given the above, FC Kairat was surprised by the public announcement of a concert on dates for which an official and reasoned refusal had been issued,” the club stated.
