Tokayev arrived in Kyrgyzstan on August 21 for an official visit.
He was welcomed at the airport by Japarov himself.
As Tokayev departed, Japarov once again personally accompanied his Kazakh counterpart. The two leaders bid each other a warm farewell.
How Tokayev’s official visit to Kyrgyzstan unfolded
On August 22, during bilateral talks, the presidents discussed strengthening cooperation in politics, transport and transit, energy, water resources, agriculture, and digitalization.
Special attention was given to enhancing cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as regional and international agendas.
President Tokayev’s official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic began with a visit to the Ata-Beyit National Historical and Memorial Complex.
The Head of State laid flowers at the monument to the victims of the tragic events of 1916, located on the territory of the memorial complex, and honored the memory of the outstanding Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov.
Tokayev and Japarov also took part in a meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. In his address, Tokayev thanked his Kyrgyz counterpart for the invitation and outlined the goals of his visit.
Following the official events, Tokayev awarded President Japarov the Order of “Altyn Qyran.” He also presented state and public figures of Kyrgyzstan with honors.
Later that day, the two presidents jointly attended the unveiling ceremony of the “Golden Bridge of Friendship” monument. Tokayev also visited a school-gymnasium named after his father.
