Tengrinews.kz - Authorities in the Turkestan region have detained members of a group involved in organizing illegal migration, according to Polisia.kz.
The group was reportedly helping foreigners illegally cross the state border.
"Officers from the organized crime division detained nine individuals who, in exchange for illegal payments, provided foreigners with fake court rulings to facilitate border crossings. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the organization of illegal migration and forgery of documents," the Turkestan region police reported.
The suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility, and police are investigating all the details of the case.
Ten foreign nationals who attempted to cross the Kazakhstan border using forged documents provided by the detained suspects have been deported.
Earlier, it was reported that a Kazakh citizen had set up a mountain route for illegal migration to Europe.
