Tengrinews.kz - A Kazakh traveler has discovered a picturesque, almost “secret” spot in Almaty region — but decided not to reveal its exact location in order to preserve its natural beauty and avoid a wave of tourists.
The video
Traveler Anatoly shared a video of the hidden place in the Charyn River valley, which struck him with its scenery and secluded atmosphere. While eager to share his emotions with followers, he chose not to disclose the coordinates. According to him, the spot cannot be reached by car.
“We found this location by accident while studying maps for new routes. There’s no road, you have to walk through bushes and trees to get there. I think it’s too early to share it, because a lot of garbage is usually left behind after mass visits, which harms nature,” he explained.
National park and local officials respond
Tengrinews.kz reached out to Charyn Canyon National Park to clarify the location. Officials said the footage was taken outside the protected territory.
“The landscapes shown are beyond the borders of the national park and are not part of the protected area,” the organization noted.
According to the Almaty regional akimat (local government administration), the spot lies in one of the scenic parts of the Charyn River valley, away from major settlements and tourist routes.
“This place stands out for its unique natural beauty and relative obscurity, which makes it especially appealing for travelers and explorers,” the akimat said.
Earlier, a videographer captured Aygaykum in Altyn-Emel National Park. The video attracted the attention of media outlets and social networks.
