Tengrinews.kz – The National Security Committee (NSC) has summed up the results of anti-corruption efforts for 2025.
According to the NSC, in 2025 the illegal activities of 895 individuals were stopped. A total of 1,052 criminal cases were opened, investigations were completed in 969 cases, and 860 case materials were sent to court.
Most of the identified offenses involved bribery and the embezzlement of budget funds.
A total of 16.1 billion tenge was recovered in favor of the state, while assets worth 3.3 billion tenge were seized.
For reporting corruption offenses, 61 individuals received rewards totaling 24.2 million tenge — an average of about 397,000 tenge per person.
Citizens who report corruption or assist in uncovering it are eligible for a one-time monetary reward, provided that a court decision or conviction against the offender enters into legal force.
The reward can amount to up to 10 percent of the damage caused, but may not exceed 4,000 monthly calculation indices (MCI). With one MCI set at 4,325 tenge in 2026, the maximum possible reward reaches 17.3 million tenge.
In addition, whistleblowers are legally protected. Their confidentiality and labor rights are safeguarded, and they cannot be subjected to disciplinary action, dismissed or transferred without the involvement of the Anti-Corruption Service. Disclosure of information about whistleblowers carries criminal liability.
Any citizen can report corruption by calling the Anti-Corruption Service call center of the NSC at 1424.
