"As of January 1, Kazakhstan is home to 85,203 veterans, including 120 WWII veterans, 16,983 veterans who receive benefits equivalent to WWII veterans, 26,506 veterans of combat operations in other countries, and 41,594 home front workers from the WWII era," the statement said.
In 2024, special state benefits totaling 16.7 billion tenge were paid to these categories of veterans. In 2025, 17 billion tenge has been allocated for this purpose.
Monthly special state benefits are paid from the national budget to all categories of veterans, regardless of other social payments they may receive, in the following amounts:
- WWII veterans – 16 monthly calculation indexes (MCI) (62,912 tenge in 2025);
Veterans with benefits equivalent to WWII veterans, including:
- Individuals with disabilities resulting from injuries, wounds, or illnesses during WWII – 7.55 MCI (27,875 tenge in 2025);
- Individuals with benefits equivalent to WWII participants – 6.19 MCI (24,339 tenge in 2025).
Veterans of combat operations in other countries, including:
- Participants in the Afghan War – 6.19 MCI (24,339 tenge in 2025);
- Military personnel involved in enhancing border security along the Tajik-Afghan border, participating in international peacekeeping in Iraq, or resolving ethnic conflicts in Nagorno-Karabakh – 4.8 MCI (18,874 tenge in 2025);
- WWII home front workers – 2.13 MCI (8,376 tenge in 2025).
It is also worth noting that, as part of celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory, Kazakhstan plans to provide a one-time financial payment of five million tenge to WWII veterans.
