Tengrinews.kz - The spring conscription campaign will take place in Kazakhstan from March to June. This year, more than 20,000 Kazakhstanis will be sent to serve in the army, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Saken Zhusupov announced.
The conscription campaign will run until June 30, with a total of 195 city and district draft commissions operating across the country.
"By June 30, the ranks of the Armed Forces, other troops, and military formations will be replenished with more than 20,000 men aged 18 to 27 who have no grounds for deferment or exemption from conscription," Zhusupov said at a briefing at the Central Communications Service (CCS).
According to the Ministry of Defense, a total of 20,833 people are subject to conscription, including:
- 10,598 people into the Armed Forces;
- 7,054 people into the National Guard;
- 2,500 people into the Border Service of the National Security Committee (NSC);
- 391 people into the Ministry of Emergency Situations;
- 290 people into the State Security Service.
"Citizens who have completed compulsory military service form the core of the trained military reserve, which, if necessary, can be mobilized to defend our country," Zhusupov said.
Recall that on February 13, the head of state signed a decree "On the discharge of conscripted servicemen who have completed their term of military service and the next conscription of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan for mandatory military service in March–June and September–December 2025."
