Tengrinews.kz - Residents of Astana have been warned about a high fire hazard, with notifications being sent out by mobile operators.

Kazhydromet explained that from April 15 to October 15, they issue daily forecasts regarding fire hazards. Such hazards arise when the region experiences prolonged dry weather, sunny conditions, and wind.

In the meantime, a significant wildfire has spread across two regions of Kazakhstan, covering an area of 45,000 hectares. The fire, which started in Pavlodar Region, has extended into Karaganda Region.

On October 7, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that during firefighting efforts in the Karkaraly District of Karaganda Region, senior firefighter-rescuer Khairat Khali lost his life, and four others sustained injuries.
