Heat up to +46 - what June 2026 will be like in Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz — Meteorologists have released an advisory weather forecast for June 2026 in Kazakhstan. Average air temperatures are expected to exceed the climatic norm by 1–2 degrees across most of the country.

Temperatures to exceed climatic norm

According to Kazhydromet, while average temperatures in the west of the country will remain near normal, other regions are expected to see temperatures exceeding long-term averages.

Southern and central regions may experience periods of extreme heat, with temperatures reaching +40…+46 degrees Celsius.

Unstable weather in early June

During the first ten days of the month, unstable weather is expected across most of Kazakhstan due to the passage of cyclones and associated atmospheric fronts. Short-term rains with thunderstorms, hail, and squally winds are forecast nationwide, with heavy rain expected at times in the northwestern half of the country. Dust storms are predicted on certain days in the south and southwest.

A gradual increase in air temperature is expected:

• In the west, southwest, and the Aktobe region, nighttime temperatures will rise from +6...+12°C to +13...+22°C, while daytime temperatures will increase from +15...+25°C to +27...+32°C.
• In the southwest of the republic, temperatures will reach up to +35°C.

Temperature fluctuations are forecast as follows:

• In the north and the Kostanay region, nighttime temperatures will range from +11...+16°C to +15...+20°C, with daytime temperatures between +21...+26°C and +28...+33°C.
• In the south, nighttime temperatures will shift from +17...+25°C to +13...+18°C, and daytime highs will drop from extreme heat of +33...+40°C to +23...+31°C. In the southeast, a gradual decline from extreme heat of +33...+38°C to +20...+27°C is expected.

At the beginning of the period, daytime temperatures in the east and center will reach intense highs of +33...+39°C. For the remainder of the period, temperatures are expected to stay between +13...+20°C at night and +25...+33°C during the day.

Late June: Rain and thunderstorms

During the second and third ten-day periods of June, hot weather will periodically give way to cool, rainy days accompanied by thunderstorms and increased winds. Localized hail and dust storms are also possible.

Temperature patterns will remain unstable:

• In western, northern, central, and eastern Kazakhstan, temperatures will fluctuate from +8...+18°C up to +15...+25°C at night, and from +28...+33°C up to extreme highs of +35...+39°C during the day.
• In the center of the country, intense heat could reach +42°C.
• In southern Kazakhstan, temperatures will fluctuate between +14...+23°C and +20...+28°C at night. Daytime temperatures will range from +28...+33°C to intense heat of +34...+40°C, potentially reaching extreme highs of +40...+46°C on certain days.
