Chairman of Kazakhstan Democratic Party Adilet Maksut Narikbayev said that Chairman of Samruk Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund Timur Kilibayev can become a successor of incumbent President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports. “If speaking in facts, without emotions and jealousy, what is wrong with that? I assume this is possible. The only minus of Kulibayev is that his is the President’s son-in-law. I don’t see any other disadvantages,” Narikbayev told the agency. Head of Adilet party considers Kulibayev a decent person with “high level of knowledge and experience, especially managerial one.” “Kulibayev is not nouveau riche. He unveiled his capital some time ago. He currently owns a capital that provides his independence from other powers. Although he rarely gives public speeches, he will be a strong politician if he becomes a leader of a political party,” Narikbayev said. The politician noted that only the President can make the final decision on the successor. “As he sees much better, who is loyal and who will not betray and who will be able to adopt his policies, especially economic ones. Because the task of Kazakhstan becoming industrial and innovative country has already been set,” he said. According to the politician, Kulibayev is one of those who has already layer the foundation to fulfill this major task. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that Kazakhstan President’s adviser Yermukhamet Yertysbayev told Kommersant newspaper that head of Samruk Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund Timur Kilibayev can become a successor of Nursultan Nazarbayev.
