Tengrinews.kz – The government has allocated over 116 billion tenge from its reserve to support local farmers. The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.

The decision follows the directive of the Head of State given at the extended government meeting on January 28, aimed at ensuring preferential financing for sowing and harvesting operations in the amount of at least 700 billion tenge.

Specifically, to support agricultural producers with accessible loans and stabilize the financial situation of farmers, the decree provides for the allocation of approximately 116.77 billion tenge from the government’s reserve.

“These funds will be directed towards financing agricultural enterprises for the 2025 spring field and harvesting operations, as well as the purchase of domestically produced agricultural machinery. This will be implemented through subsidizing coupon interest on bonds of Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC and KazAgroFinance JSC—enabling further financing for the purchase and leasing of domestic agricultural equipment. Additionally, it will reduce commission costs when guaranteeing loan agreements through the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund JSC,” the government explained.

It is worth noting that as part of the President’s directives given on February 7, the government had already secured the first 100 billion tenge back in December 2024 to increase financing for sowing and harvesting operations in 2025.
