Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev opened an extended government meeting.

As the Head of State noted, the extended government meeting is taking place against the backdrop of fundamental changes in the world.

"Global processes can have a strong impact on the economic situation in our country. We must also keep in mind that the transition to a new technological order based on total digitalization will lead to the creation of qualitatively new realities in the world. We must be prepared for this. Successful adaptation to new realities will become a determining factor in the competitiveness and sustainable progress of Kazakhstan," Tokayev said.

The Head of State emphasized that the effectiveness of the government and akims can be judged, first of all, by the results of economic development and improvement of the quality of life of citizens.

"Today we have gathered to summarize the past year and formulate urgent tasks that need to be solved in the shortest possible time," Tokayev added.

Today's meeting will summarize the country's socio-economic development for 2024, and define key tasks for the near future. Reports will be made by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Chairman of the National Bank Timur Suleimenov, as well as akims of a number of regions.
