This week, Astana welcomes high-profile guests for the summit prompting the government to ensure robust security measures for visiting leaders and their delegations.

From 00:01 am on July 2 to 11:59 pm on July 4, a moderate terrorism alert level has been enforced in Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, and Kokshetau cities.

"In light of the current security situation, residents are advised to minimize city movements, conduct activities online where possible, and consider postponing non-essential meetings or travel plans. Road closures and traffic interruptions may occur throughout the city during the transit of protected convoys," - said a National Security Committee reserve colonel.

Enhanced security measures extend to transportation hubs, including airports, railway stations, and bus terminals, where stringent screening procedures will be enforced in accordance with national regulations during the yellow alert phase.

Unlike higher alert levels, moderate terrorism alerts do not involve extensive document checks or detainments for identity verification unless there are clear indications of threatening behavior.
