Tengrinews.kz - A foreign national has been detained in Pavlodar for allegedly trafficking human organs, citing Polisia.kz.

The woman, a citizen of a neighboring country, was caught red-handed by officers from the organized crime unit of the Pavlodar regional police while discussing the sale of a kidney and agreeing to the deal.

"An undercover operation was carried out by the organized crime unit, during which the 'seller' was detained while receiving a down payment. A criminal case has been launched under charges related to the illegal removal of human organs and tissues. The suspect is in custody, and a full investigation is underway," said Bolat Nurseitov, First Deputy Head of the Pavlodar Regional Police Department.

He reminded the public that illegal organ transplants and the buying or selling of human organs and tissues are criminal offenses in Kazakhstan.

Police urged citizens to report any such incidents immediately by calling 102 or using the Police 102 app.
