Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued a warning to residents of Almaty and the Almaty region about the risk of localized flooding caused by rising water levels in rivers following heavy rainfall.

Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued a warning to residents of Almaty and the Almaty region about the risk of localized flooding caused by rising water levels in rivers following heavy rainfall.

According to the forecast, heavy rains are expected in Almaty and surrounding areas between July 10 and 11.

“Slope runoff and rising river levels are anticipated in mountainous and foothill areas of the Almaty region, as well as adjacent territories of Almaty. This could lead to water overflows and flooding in some areas,” Kazhydromet reported.

Meteorologists caution that if water levels surpass critical thresholds, there is a risk of flooding in populated areas, agricultural facilities, and local roads situated near floodplains.
