Tengrinews.kz - The first light rail transit (LRT) train cars have been placed on the tracks in Astana.
Talks of building an LRT system in the capital date back to 2005. Now, 20 years later, the first train sets have arrived in Astana and have been installed on the tracks near the airport area.
Each train set consists of four cars, manufactured in Tangshan, China.
Two complete sets were delivered using specially equipped heavy-duty trailers.

According to earlier reports, the trains are made using modern, lightweight, and durable materials designed to provide a smooth ride and improved acoustic comfort for passengers.
“The cars will remain at the station until test runs begin, which are scheduled for September 2025,” stated CTS (City Transportation Systems).
Earlier, on June 9, the first LRT trains arrived in Astana.
