Fire breaks out on Astana LRT tracks

Tengrinews.kz – A fire broke out on the tracks of Astana's Tarlan Astana light rail system on Syganak Street, according to the city's Emergency Situations Department.

The department said the power supply to the line was disconnected before firefighters began extinguishing the blaze using a Vario Carbon backpack fire extinguisher.

The fire affected a one-meter section of the track.

The blaze has since been fully extinguished.

Later, the Ministry of Emergency Situations released footage showing firefighters putting out the fire.

As previously reported, Astana's light rail system was officially renamed Tarlan Astana. The corresponding decree was signed by Astana Mayor Zhenis Kassymbek.
