Fire breaks out near shopping mall in Almaty

Tengrinews.kz - Thick black smoke was seen rising into the sky near the Alatau shopping mall in Almaty's Alatau district, eyewitnesses reported in videos shared online.

According to preliminary information, a warehouse is on fire in the Samgau neighborhood.

Almaty's Department of Emergency Situations (DES) stated that firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 2:48 P.M. under an elevated response level.

"A command post has been deployed, and multiple fire containment zones have been established," the DES press service said.

Previously, on the morning of April 9, a fire broke out in a six-story mansard-style dormitory in Astana.
