Tengrinews.kz - Euronews, a major European television channel, will open a regional office in Astana.
Asel Kozhakova, the official representative of the project, announced that Kazakhstan has been chosen as a strategic partner for Euronews in Central Asia.
"The opening of the Euronews office in Kazakhstan is a significant milestone that will provide the country with an international news platform. Kazakhstan has been chosen as a strategic partner in Central Asia. Euronews Astana Hub will also cover news from the entire region," Kozhakova stated.
It is not yet known when the office will become operational. According to Kozhakova, full broadcasting will begin only in 2025 as the opening stages need to be completed.
Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, Aida Balayeva, met with Pedro Vargas David, the chairman of the board of Euronews. During the meeting, the parties signed the first memorandum of intent for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Euronews.
