Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy has outlined the conditions under which Kazakhstan could supply fuel and lubricants to Russia amid reports by some media outlets about “humanitarian fuel supplies” to the neighboring country.
The ministry said that if “official requests are received from the Russian government to purchase motor fuel,” Kazakhstan is ready to consider selling fuel and lubricants on mutually beneficial commercial terms.
“The conclusion of international agreements and commercial contracts in the field of petroleum product supplies is possible only if there is available resource capacity,” the Ministry of Energy added.
The ministry noted that “full and uninterrupted supply of the domestic market” remains an unconditional priority.
“Export supplies may be carried out only if there are no risks to meeting the needs of Kazakhstan’s citizens and economy,” the Ministry of Energy stated.
As a reminder, on June 26, Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov said that no requests had been received from the Russian side on this issue.
Videos from border-area gas stations in Kazakhstan are being actively discussed on social media, with the authors claiming that fuel can be bought there much cheaper. The akimat of Aktobe region said that the sale of fuel and lubricants is proceeding as usual.
