“An earthquake was registered by the network of seismic stations of the LLP ‘NNCSNI’ of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan on June 8, 2026, at 9:55 p.m. Astana time. The epicenter was located 111 kilometers southeast of Almaty on the territory of Kazakhstan. The epicenter coordinates are 42.920° N, 78.188° E. The depth was 5 kilometers,” the statement said.

According to the ministry, the tremors were felt in Almaty Region: in the village of Saty, their intensity was 2.5 points, and in the village of Zhalagash, 2 points.
