Earthquake recorded 111 kilometers from Almaty

Tengrinews.kz – Kazakh seismologists have registered an earthquake with its epicenter located 111 kilometers from Almaty on the territory of Kazakhstan, citing the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

“An earthquake was registered by the network of seismic stations of the LLP ‘NNCSNI’ of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan on June 8, 2026, at 9:55 p.m. Astana time. The epicenter was located 111 kilometers southeast of Almaty on the territory of Kazakhstan. The epicenter coordinates are 42.920° N, 78.188° E. The depth was 5 kilometers,” the statement said.

According to the ministry, the tremors were felt in Almaty Region: in the village of Saty, their intensity was 2.5 points, and in the village of Zhalagash, 2 points.
