According to operational information from the Kazakh National Data Center, an earthquake occurred on December 9 at 08:24 Astana time in the border region of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The magnitude of the tremors was 3.9.

As reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the earthquake's center was located in Kazakhstan, 742 kilometers southwest of Almaty. In Kazakhstan, tremors were felt in the village of Atakent in the Maktaaral district with a magnitude of 2. There were no reports of casualties or damage.

Earlier, an earthquake occurred on the border between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
