According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the seismic monitoring network of "National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research" LLP registered the earthquake on December 4 at 5:07 PM Astana time.
"The epicenter of the earthquake is located in Kyrgyzstan, 96 kilometers southwest of Almaty," the statement said.
It was noted that the tremors were not felt in Kazakhstan.
According to the Institute of seismology of the National Academy of the Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, the epicenter of the 3.6-magnitude earthquake was 23 kilometers northwest of the city of Balykchy.
Recall that on December 2, a 4.2-magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Mangystau region.
