Tengrinews.kz – An earthquake occurred near the Kazakhstan–Kyrgyzstan border.
According to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, the quake was recorded by the seismic stations network of LLP "NNC SNIP" on July 16 at 06:27 a.m. Astana time. The epicenter was located in Kyrgyzstan, 379 kilometers southwest of Almaty.
The tremors were not felt on Kazakhstan’s territory.
According to the Seismology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.1.
In Kyrgyz villages, the intensity reached:
- 3.5 points: Kalba, Atai Ogonbaev, Kara-Suu, Kok-Kashat;
- 3 points: Kozuchak, Zhon-Aryk, Kyzyl-Tuu, Ak-Zhar, Ak-Sai, Chat-Bazar, Sasyk-Bulak, and the city of Talas.
