According to operational data from the Kazakh National Data Center, the tremors were recorded on August 28 at 07:54 a.m. Astana time. The epicenter of the earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.5, was located in the East Kazakhstan Region, 7 kilometers southeast of the village of Kurchum.

It should be recalled that on the night of August 27, an earthquake occurred off the coast of the Caspian Sea. Its epicenter was in Dagestan. That tremor was also felt by residents of Aktau.

A day earlier, seismologists in Kazakhstan registered an earthquake in Kyrgyzstan. The tremors had a magnitude of 5 and originated at a depth of 2 kilometers.
