Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) has launched a hotline in response to the recent earthquake in the Zhambyl region.

An operational headquarters has been set up at the MES command center, and the following hotline numbers have been made available for information and assistance:

  • MES Command Center: +7 (7172) 55-96-21
  • Zhambyl Regional Emergency Department: +7 (7262) 51-41-67

Emergency response forces and resources are on full alert. So far, there have been no reports of casualties or destruction.

“The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan continues to monitor the situation and remains in constant communication with regional authorities. We ask citizens to remain calm and rely on official sources for information,” the statement said.

Earlier, it was reported that an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 struck the Zhambyl region, with the epicenter located 126 kilometers east of Taraz.
