Earthquake hits Almaty

Tengrinews.kz – An earthquake has occurred in Almaty.

According to data from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the earthquake occurred on 17 February at 3:08 PM Astana time. The epicenter was located 74 kilometers northeast of Almaty and 31 kilometers east of Yesik. The magnitude of the tremors was 4.8.

The Department for Emergency Situations of Almaty reported that information about the intensity and epicenter of the earthquake is being processed and clarified by the seismological research center.
