Tengrinews.kz – An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 was recorded in Kyrgyzstan, about 184 kilometers southwest of Almaty, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The tremor occurred at 12:57 Astana time on September 12, with the epicenter located 19–20 kilometers southeast of Bishkek, according to Kyrgyzstan’s National Academy of Sciences. In Bishkek, the quake reached an intensity of 4 points on the MSK-64 scale.
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the quake was also registered 187 kilometers southwest of Almaty. In Kazakhstan, the impact was felt at a weaker intensity of 2 points in the village of Kordai. No casualties or damage were reported.
