The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reported the event early on Monday, November 3.

“The network of seismic stations of LLP ‘NNCSSN’ of the MES of Kazakhstan recorded an earthquake on November 3, 2025, at 01:29 Astana time,” the statement said.

The epicenter was located 1,079 kilometers southwest of Almaty, on the territory of Afghanistan, at a depth of 120 kilometers. Energy class: 14.2. Magnitude (MPV): 6.2

The estimated intensity in the Turkistan region was as follows:

  • Maktaaral district, Myrzakent village – 2 points;
  • Zhetisay district, Zhetisay city – 2 points;
  • Shardara district, Shardara city – 2 points.

Later, the MES reported that tremors were also felt in Shymkent, with an intensity of 2 points.

No reports of injuries or damage have been received, the agency added.

A day earlier, a 3.2-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Caspian Sea, with the epicenter located 72 kilometers deep, according to the Azerbaijan Seismological Service Center.
