Classicradio started broadcasting at 102.8 FM radio frequency in Kazakhstan on Monday, KazTAG reports. “I am happy that classical music radio appeared in our country. We have been working in this direction for almost 10 years and finally achieved that there is a dedicated radio for fans of classical music,” conservatory's rector Zhaniya Aubakirova said. “There is a big variety of press, TV-channels or radio stations in Kazakhstan and the launch of Classicradio makes our initiative more serious and fundamental. We are glad that national and world classical musical creations will be available on our frequency,” emphasized Director General of Khabar agency Gulnar Iksanova. Presentation of the new radio station was held in a concert hall of the Almaty conservatory last Saturday. The guests had an opportunity to listen to classical music played by the conservatory's symphonic orchestra and lead singers of Abai State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. Deputy Akim (Mayor) of Almaty Serik Seidumanov, famous ballet dancer Leila Alpiyeva and conservatory professor Artur Platonov spoke at the event. The new radio station will have live broadcasts of the classical music concerts from the Large Organ Hall of the Conservatory. At the first stage the radio will be available in Almaty only, but after some time the citizens of other Kazakhstan cities will be able to listen to Classics as well. From the first day of broadcasting the radio wave will be available in digital format. The radio will have news several times a day, programs about composers, famous performers and musical creations included into the gold pool of the world culture, as well as educational programs.
