This year, the holiday fell on September 15th. The city was transformed: the streets were adorned with new decorative elements, the building facades sparkled with lights, and the parks and squares awaited both residents and visitors of the metropolis. Special attention was given to decorating the central streets, where the main events took place.
This year, over 150 different events were planned, covering all parts of the city. The event program was diverse, ranging from free concerts to theatrical performances and fairs, each becoming a vibrant occasion.
Thematic decorations with inscriptions and apples gave the city a special festive atmosphere.
One of the first festivals, "Kitap Fest," started on Arbat and ran for two days from September 14 to 15. Here, visitors could explore new literary releases, meet authors, and participate in workshops.
One of the main events of City Day was the annual "Alma Fest" festival, which took place in the Park of the First President.
Starting in the morning, festival guests could enjoy concerts, an open-air cinema, exhibitions, and a craft fair. Special attention was given to an apple exhibition showcasing various types and varieties, symbolizing Almaty's special connection with this fruit.
Additionally, children's play areas, photo zones, and sports game zones were organized.
Activities were also arranged for the city's senior citizens.
Residents and guests celebrated the holiday with family, friends, and even their pets.
In the evening, the concert "Almaty – my beloved city" began, featuring performances by stars of the Kazakh stage such as Roza Rymbayeva, Nurgali Nusipzhanov, and others.
In the heart of the city, on Arbat, the festival "Tugan Kuninmen, Almatym" took place. Visitors could enjoy art exhibitions, a craft fair, and various workshops. This festival provided a great opportunity for residents and guests of the city to experience the festive atmosphere and immerse themselves in Almaty's creative vibe.
Another highlight was the Almaty Cover Show, which started at 5:00 PM on Astana Square. The event featured performances by Kazakhstani pop stars such as Nagima Yeskalieva, Meirambek Besbaev, Kalifarniya, RaiM, and many others.
The celebration concluded with a vibrant multimedia show on the Koktobe TV tower, which could be seen from various points in the city. Additionally, Almaty residents and visitors enjoyed a colorful fireworks display.

Also, every year on September 5, Kazakhstan celebrates one of the brightest and most significant holidays - the Day of Languages of the Peoples of Kazakhstan. This day is a symbol of respect for the cultural and linguistic diversity of all nationalities living in our country.
