Tengrinews.kz - The minimum retail price of cigarettes in Kazakhstan has been raised by 12.1 percent to 920 tenge, according to a decree signed by Finance Minister Madi Takiyev.
The minister amended a previous order dated February 22, 2022 (No. 196) concerning the minimum retail prices for filtered and unfiltered cigarettes, papirosy, cigarillos, and heated tobacco products.
Under the updated order, the new minimum retail prices for a pack of 20 cigarettes (including filtered, unfiltered, papirosy, cigarillos, and heated tobacco products) are as follows:
- 920 tenge from July 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025 (previously 820 tenge);
- 970 tenge starting January 1, 2026 (up from 870 tenge).
The order came into effect on July 1, 2025.
Earlier, it was reported that cigarette prices in Kazakhstan were expected to rise again.
