Tengrinews.kz - The price of cigarettes in Kazakhstan is expected to increase once again, as the Ministry of Finance has released a draft order proposing higher minimum retail prices for tobacco products.
According to the document, the proposed amendments would apply to filtered and unfiltered cigarettes, papirosas, cigarillos, and heated tobacco products.
“The aim of the draft is to raise the minimum retail prices for filtered and unfiltered cigarettes, papirosas, cigarillos, and heated tobacco products. The proposed changes are intended to support a balanced tax and pricing policy on tobacco products,” the ministry stated.
Officials also noted that the price hike is intended to curb the spread and consumption of tobacco across the country.
