Tengrinews.kz – Air Astana passengers departing from Almaty will face new check-in procedures starting September 15, the airline’s press service reported.
From 12:00 p.m., all check-in for both domestic and international flights will be conducted exclusively in Terminal T2 due to the ongoing reconstruction of Terminal T1.
“Check-in for Air Astana flights at Almaty Airport will now take place only in Terminal T2. The new rules will remain in effect until the completion of construction works,” the airline said.
For domestic flights, passengers must check in at counters 14–25. Once they receive their boarding passes, they will need to proceed to Terminal T1, where security checks and boarding will take place.
Passengers are also encouraged to use online check-in, available from 36 hours up to 60 minutes before departure.
“Those with online check-in and baggage should drop it off at counters 14–15. Passengers without baggage may go directly to Terminal T1 for security screening and boarding,” Air Astana added.
To ease the process, additional self-service kiosks have been installed in Terminal T2. The airline advises passengers to arrive at the airport early to allow sufficient time for check-in and transfer between terminals.
Check-in for international flights remains unchanged.
Air Astana noted that together with Almaty Airport, it is taking “all necessary measures to ensure passenger comfort and convenience during the terminal reconstruction”.
SCAT, FlyArystan, and Qazaq Air confirmed that their passengers will continue to check in for domestic flights at Terminal T1, with no changes in procedures.
Earlier, FlyArystan warned travelers about heavy passenger traffic during check-in and security screening at Almaty Airport, recommending arrival at least two hours before domestic and three hours before international flights.
