Tengrinews.kz - The National Statistics Bureau has published data on the number of women in Kazakhstan.
According to the bureau, the share of women in the population of Kazakhstan is 51.1%.
"The number of women in Kazakhstan is 10,381,377 people, which is 51.1% of the total population of the country. Over the past ten years, the number of women has increased by 15.2%," the report says.
It is noted that 64.4% of women live in cities and 35.6% in rural areas.
The leader among the regions in terms of the number of women is Almaty, where 1.2 million women live. Second place is occupied by the Turkestan region with 1 million women, and in third place is Astana with 803 thousand representatives.
Over the past ten years, the highest increase in the number of women is observed in the capital - by 82.1%. In Almaty, the increase was 37.5%, and in the Mangystau region, it was 32.5%.
"If we divide women by age categories, then 3.3 million girls under 18, 5.3 million women aged 18 to 60 and 1.7 million women over 60 years old," the report says.
The average age of the female population of Kazakhstan is 34.1 years.
Today, 4.4 million women work in various fields, the majority in education, trade, and healthcare.
Earlier, the Bureau of National Statistics announced the population of Kazakhstan as of February 1, 2025, and listed the country's most densely populated regions.
