Tengrinews.kz – By the end of 2025, around 22,000 citizens aged 18 to 27 will be conscripted for mandatory military service in Kazakhstan. For the first time, draft notices are being sent not only in person but also via SMS and the eGov portal.
At a Central Communications Service briefing, Farhat Aidarbayev, Deputy Head of the Organizational and Mobilization Department of the Armed Forces, announced that during the autumn conscription campaign, approximately 22,000 draftees will be sent to the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the Border Service of the National Security Committee (NSC), the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the State Security Service.
According to the Ministry of Defense, conscripts form the core of a military-trained reserve, which can be mobilized if necessary to defend the territorial integrity of the country.
Digital notification system introduced
For the first time, a digital notification system has been implemented: in addition to paper notices, notifications are now also sent via SMS and through the eGov portal’s personal account. The draft notice must be issued at least three days before the reporting date.
“If a citizen does not have a phone or an eGov account, the document is handed over in person with a signature or delivered by mail. If the citizen refuses to accept it, they are still considered notified,” Aidarbayev explained.
