Tengrinews.kz - A lawyer and two Almaty residents have been convicted of fraud and inciting bribery, according to the Anti-Corruption Agency.
The Medeu District Court of Almaty sentenced lawyer R. Nainbayev and residents D. Tuyashev and G. Sakenova.
"They were found guilty of fraud and inciting residents to offer a bribe of over 30 million tenge to government officials under the pretext of legalizing a former kindergarten building for residential use," the agency stated.
The court sentenced Sakenova to 7 years in prison, Tuyashev to 4 years, and Nainbayev to 1 year.
Additionally, all three were permanently banned from holding public office or working in the quasi-public sector.
The verdict has not yet come into force.
Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Agency introduced a new way for Kazakhstanis to report bribes.
