Tengrinews.kz - The routes of Talgo trains running between Astana and Almaty will be modified.
According to JSC "Passenger Transportation," the changes will affect Talgo train No. 4/3 and No. 10/9, which currently pass through the Shu station.
"Starting in April 2025, these trains will take a direct route, bypassing Shu station, which is a junction station that requires a locomotive change. The decision was made to optimize logistics and reduce overall travel time. Additionally, passenger traffic at Shu remains low," the company stated.
Alternative routes for passengers traveling to or from Shu:
Trains between Astana and Shu:
- No. 72/71 Astana – Shymkent
- No. 86/85 Astana – Shymkent
Trains between Shu and Almaty:
- No. 1/2 Tashkent – Almaty
- No. 11/12 Shymkent – Almaty
- No. 25/26 Shymkent – Almaty
- No. 27/28 Oral (Uralsk) – Almaty
The company apologized for any inconvenience caused by the route adjustments.
