II Investments Forum has opened today in Astana alongside the IV Economic Forum, Tengrinews.kz reports. When opening the Forum, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov told about further development of Astana, the young capital of Kazakhstan. “Two special economic zones have been created to attract investments. One is on the Left Bank, the other – an industrial park – is outside the city. Astana has seen the highest GDP per capita in Kazakhstan - $18 000. Within the following 5 years the city will be implementing 11 large-scaled investment projects totally worth $ 5 billion. These projects will cover a wide range of sectors from infrastructure to high-tech space projects”, PM Massimov said. The Astana Invest Forum is aimed at improving the investment climate and further stimulates the flow of domestic and foreign investment in the city's economy, the formation and promotion of Brand Astana to the world markets in the strategy of joining the Republic of Kazakhstan in the top 50 most competitive countries in the world.
