According to the akimat, the trust management agreement has expired.

"Due to the expiration of the trust management agreement signed with the Arab company Terminals Astana Airport Management LLP, 100 percent of the shares of JSC Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport have been transferred to the municipal ownership of Astana. The trust management agreement, which expired on January 7, 2025, had been in effect since November 7, 2023," the statement reads.

The akimat added that given the change in ownership of the airport’s shares, preparations are underway to sign a new trust management agreement between the capital’s akimat and Terminals Astana Airport Management LLP.
