Tengrinews.kz – In preparation for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, Astana's airport and train stations have switched to an enhanced operational mode.

During the summit, the capital's airport will operate around the clock with heightened security and additional personnel. Regular flights will proceed as scheduled, with over 100 additional staff and volunteers fluent in foreign languages assisting operations. Backup airports in Almaty and Karaganda are also on standby.

The city's train stations will maintain their regular schedules. Currently, Astana-1 station handles 23 routes with an average daily passenger flow of approximately 11,000 passengers. The Nurly Zhol railway station manages 19 routes, accommodating around 8,000 passengers daily.

The SCO Summit will be held in Astana on July 3-4, welcoming about 10,000 foreign delegates from across the Eurasian continent. For more details, follow the link.

It's worth noting that summer is a peak travel season, with many planning trips across the country in advance. We've previously highlighted the "Waitlist" service available for those who couldn't secure their desired train tickets.
