Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, citing the Akorda press service.
The President of Kazakhstan thanked President Xi Jinping for the invitation to take part in the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, noting the symbolism of holding the event in Shanghai, the “Pearl of the East.”
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the President of China on the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
“China enjoys great authority in the international community, and its achievements have been recognized worldwide. Today, we are all watching with great interest the impressive changes taking place in your country. I believe this is, above all, the result of your far-sighted leadership and tireless work. I deeply respect you as a strong leader guiding your people forward and as a wise politician of global stature. We are always ready to support your noble initiatives. Kazakhstan is consistently interested in comprehensively strengthening its eternal and strategic partnership with China. In recent years, political dialogue between our countries has intensified significantly,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
According to the President, major success has been achieved in trade and economic cooperation.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that cultural and humanitarian ties are growing stronger each year.
“Last year, Kazakhstan was visited by more than 1 million Chinese citizens. Cultural centers have opened in the capitals of the two countries. Luban Workshops are successfully operating in our country. This is further evidence of the friendship and mutual trust that have developed between our two peoples,” the President of Kazakhstan emphasized.
He also drew attention to the high level of cooperation on the international stage.
The two states hold similar positions on global sustainable development and security issues. In particular, effective contacts have been established within the UN, the SCO, CICA, and the Central Asia–China format.
Welcoming the President of Kazakhstan, the President of China noted that the meeting provided a favorable opportunity to discuss current issues on the bilateral agenda.
“Through joint efforts, the eternal comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Kazakhstan has reached a high level. At the same time, there is significant potential for its further development. The President of Kazakhstan is pursuing a friendly policy toward China, and this serves the interests of the peoples of both countries,” Xi Jinping said.
In addition, the President of China highly praised the course of large-scale transformations being carried out at the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, congratulated him on the adoption of the new Constitution, and wished him success in the upcoming elections to the Kurultai.

Following the meeting between the leaders of Kazakhstan and China, a program and roadmap for trade and economic cooperation between the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the government of the People’s Republic of China for 2027–2030 were signed.
On July 16 in Shanghai, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with heads of Chinese high-tech companies. At the meeting with representatives of China’s business community, held in a roundtable format, the President expressed sincere gratitude to Chinese partners and highly praised the eternal comprehensive strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China.
