The statistics were provided by the press service of the city akimat (the local government administration). According to them, representatives of the QS agency note that Kazakhstani universities (participants in the rating) demonstrated the dynamics of their positions: almost two-thirds improved their results from last year.
"22 Kazakhstani universities improved their positions, three universities maintain their position. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is in the top hundred of the rating. Satbayev University is also in the top 100, ranking 89th," the akimat reported.
In addition, Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University returned to the rating after a year-long break, entering the 801-850 category.

The akimat also recalled that 985 universities from 25 countries and territories participated in the ranking of the best universities in Asia. The greatest competition for Kazakhstani universities is made up of universities in India, China, Japan and South Korea.
The ranking was compiled by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, one of the most authoritative agencies in the world, which has a great influence on the reputation and recognition of universities. QS evaluates universities based on such criteria as academic reputation, reputation among employers, the ratio of teachers and students, scientific publications and participation in international research.
