Tengrinews.kz - Minister of Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev commented on whether artificial intelligence implementation could lead to staff reductions among civil servants.

"Let me say upfront: there is no exact forecast for how many employees will be reduced. However, it is important to understand that artificial intelligence technologies will primarily free employees from repetitive tasks and release resources so they can focus on intellectual, creative, and strategic work - areas where human reasoning is essential," said Madiyev at a briefing following an off-site government meeting.

The minister noted that this approach is aimed at increasing the efficiency of the public administration system.

"To say that there will be a 20-30 percent reduction in certain areas might be possible. We are currently making such calculations. In sectors with call centers, for example, it is easy to determine how many employees can be replaced because trained artificial intelligence will handle calls, provide answers, issue necessary references, and send messages," noted the Minister of Digitalization.

The Vice Minister of Finance, Aset Turysov, also shared his opinion on the matter.

"Many tasks that are currently done manually will be completed faster and more efficiently with the help of AI. However, as you rightly pointed out, there will be questions about certain optimizations. But I think, in any case, there will be some reorientation of civil servants," concluded Turysov.

Earlier, it was announced that civil servants will undergo training to effectively use AI tools.
